The Strategic Standpoint
As much as I don’t want to say it, it was extremely smart and strategic of the Indian Government to attack on that day. Unfortunately, they should have kept it more secret, because it is what caused the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The Indian Government did not expect a retaliation of this caliber from the Sikhs, but it also caused a lot of panic among Indians against the Sikh People.

I agree but I don't think that it's morally correct to do something like that. I expected the retaliation from the Sikhs, because if someone tuly believes in something they won't just sulk and not do anything about it. I think it was poor planning to not expect that. When dealing with religion you have to keep your eyes wide open to make sure no attacks are made on you. The retaliation of course would worsen things but one has to fight for their nation.
